Graeme completed a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Tasmania in 1977 and was admitted as a Practitioner of the Supreme Court of Tasmania in 1980.He joined Douglas & Collins in 1983 and became a partner in January 1985.

Graeme is one of the most experienced personal injury lawyers in Tasmania having practiced as both a barrister and solicitor in this area for more than twenty five years. During that time he has appeared in all Courts exercising State and Federal jurisdiction and has appeared in all major tribunals and other statutory bodies including a Royal Commission.
He has conducted all aspects of criminal and civil litigation with many jury trials. He has successfully managed and run complex multi-party commercial litigation and personal injury litigation often against well resourced interstate firms.
He has a special interest in media law giving advice to clients on defamation and contempt matters. For many years he has been retained as legal counsel by The Examiner Newspaper Pty. Ltd. and The Advocate Newspaper Pty Ltd to advise on areas of defamation, contempt and risk minimisation for the publishers and their journalists.
In 1993 Graeme was appointed by the Supreme Court as a Notary Public and has practised as a Notary for thirteen years.
Graeme enjoys many outdoor activities. His current passion is trekking and bushwalking and he has pursued these activities in Australia , New Zealand and The Himalayas. He will tell you there is no better place than South West Tasmania. Over the years he has introduced and guided many people in these activities. He was formally recognised for his leadership skills by the Department of Sport & Recreation in 1997.
He is married to Sally and they have three adult children.
