Robert Pearce

Robert completed his law degree at the University of Tasmania in 1981 and was admitted as a legal practitioner in 1983.  He worked at one of Hobart 's leading firms until he joined Douglas and Collins in 1988. He has been a partner since 1991.

Robert offers a long and broad experience advising and representing clients in all aspects of the law.  He specialises in commercial and property law, wills and estates and dispute resolution and has appeared extensively in courts and tribunals for many years.

His major areas of practice are:

  • property law
  • corporate law
  • wills and the administration of estates and estate planning
  • land planning and local government
  • sale and purchase of businesses and property
  • leases and mortgages
  • employment and industrial relations
  • all areas of civil liability and claims including contract and negligence
  • insurance

Since 1994 Robert has been Chairman of the Tasmanian Racing Appeal Board. He is also a member of the Disciplinary Committee of the Law Society of Tasmania and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Management of St. Giles Society.

He is married to Catherine and they have three teenage daughters. He is interested in sport, having played hockey for many years both in Hobart and Launceston.
