At Douglas & Collins we provide a broad range of legal representation including the Magistrates Court, Federal Court and Supreme Court. You may require representation before planning or environment tribunals, licensing bodies, workers compensation tribunals, disciplinary tribunals, anti-discrimination tribunals, industrial tribunals or some other state or federal body.
We focus on early settlement where possible and the use of mediation or alternative dispute resolution. We have identified that communication with out clients, listening and advising on the process can result in a greater satisfaction to our clients.
In all of these cases we will advise you when we are retained of how our costs are to be calculated. Costs will be based on an hourly rate appropriate to the type of work and the level of skill required. It will not always be possible to give an estimate of the total costs at the outset because we may not be able to anticipate how long a matter may take to complete. If for any reason we do not enter into a cost agreement with you then our costs will be calculated according to the scales of costs prescribed for the jurisdiction and what is reasonable for the work which has been done.
